90% Ugni Blanc, 10% Chardonnay

80% full grapes pressed + 20% 10-day skin maceration.

Vinification in 225 liter barrels and sur lie aging for 8 months.

"Le Lointain" is a reference to the flight of the great hawk, which climbs to the zenith to hunt and sting on its prey. Charles of Arcussia, lord of Esparron, wrote a treaty on falconry in 1598 in which he spoke of this flight as the “Le Lointain” (The distant one).

It also refers to “Horus” represented with a falcon head in Egyptian mythology.

60% Grenache, 40% Cinsault

Full grapes pressed, vinified in concrete vats for 6 months of ‘élevage’.

Daï is an encouragement in Italian “DAÎ DAΔ.

When I started my activity I thought I was settling on 5 hectares but the owner of the land told me it was 12 hectares or nothing …

“so daî”! I rolled up my sleeves and here I am.

DAÎ also means “to give” in Russian. What connects us in our work is sharing, so “DAÎ!”.

100% Carignan

Full grapped vinified in “foudre” + concrete vat.

‘Élevage’ in ‘foudre’ and ‘demi-muid’ for 8 to 18 months.

Popular Russian word which literally means ‘Nothing’. But symbolically Nitchivo represents the Slavic soul “to transcend the negative in positive”.

Carignan is a grape variety hard to work due to its sensitivity to powdery mildew and its late maturity. When I took over the vines, I had to put a lot of heart and passion to restore this 60-year-old magnificent piece of land.

Nitchivo is also a tribute to my Croatian grandfather who was a “Russophile Slavic among the Slavs”.

SAINT JEAN, RED 2021

IGP COTEAUX DU VERDON

100% Grenache

Full grapes vinified in concrete vat. Sur lie aging for 8 months.

An oratory named Saint Jean and built around 1762 is located on this plot.

This is the last one that leads to the Revest chapel, a historic spot

of Esparron where a Gallo-roman villa was built in the 1st century BC.

The vines were already cultivated and the grapes were vinified on site in Roman times. It was also used as a trading post on the Silk road.

IN MEMORIAM, RED 2022

IGP COTEAUX DU VERDON

100% Syrah

Full grapped vinified in concrete vat.

'Élevage' for 12 months in "foudre" and 10 months in concrete vat.

“In Memoriam” is named in honour of the winegrowers who planted this plot of Syrah in the 1970s on the south-facing clay-limestone hillside.

Memory is what binds us to the world, without memory we are nothing.

Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault

Full grapes vinified in concrete vat.

Élevage from 12 to 18 months in ‘demi-muid’ (600-liter capacity oak barrels)

“Le Grand Adret” is the emblematic plot of Esparron de Pallières,

with the best sun exposition. The word “adret” comes from “adrecht” which in old French means “on the good side of things“, and it means the sunny side of a mountain. On the sunny side, the light hits the slopes at an angle up to 90°,resulting in an increased calorific value of the rays, becoming almost

perpendicular to the ground.

It is a homage to “Marius” who planted vines at the Grand Adret in 1962.

LA FIN DU BAL, RED 2022

IGP COTEAUX DU VERDON

Blend of old vines from three plots, Grenache, Carignan and Syrah.

Vinification in full grapes crushed in concrete vat for 10 days,

then aged in concrete vat for 6 months.

A fresh and generous wine, with a tangy fruit.

"La Fin du bal" (The end of the ball/dance) is called after the song by Vladimir Vysotsky.

“But why? I would like to know why… Why?

The end of the ball comes too fast.

Birds, not bullets.

May be stopped in mid-flight”

Carignan, Grenache, Syrah vinification in whole bunches in a concrete vat. Aging for 12 months in concrete vats.

An ephemeral cuvée that varies with joy depending on the vintages and the mood of the artists who create a new label for the bottle each year based on their vision of the Georges du Verdon.

LE GRAND ADRET, WHITE 2022

IGP COTEAUX DU VERDON

100% ugni blanc macération pelliculaire. Élevage en barrique de 228 litres sur lies totale de 12 mois.

Sélection parcellaire issu de vieilles vigne d’Ugni blanc / Trebbiano, situé sur le coteau plein sud. Le sol est composé en profondeur d’argilo-calcaire ainsi que de sable en surface. L’Ugni blanc est un cépage de la Rome antique introduit en Provence par la papauté d’Avignon.

Il possède une aromatique fine et des peaux épaisses avec des belles acidités. C’est un cépage propice à la macération pelliculaire.

LE GRAND ADRET, RED 2022

IGP CÔTEAUX DU VERDON

100% carignan, pressurage direct en grappes entières. Vinification et élevage en cuve inox et barrique de 228 litres de 12 mois.

Sélection parcellaire sur un coteau plein sud planté au milieu des bois, composé de grés à reptiles ainsi que des silex. Les sous-sols sont argileux ce qui confère à la vigne une resource hydrique et minérale importante.

C’est une parcelle de 1962 avec laquelle nous produisons également notre cuvée « NITCHIVO ».
